    Presentation Title:

Lobbying about Zoning and Development? What you need to know about Regulation of Lobbying

    Presentation Synopsis:

The Regulation of Lobbying Act commenced on 1 September 2015, and with it, the requirement for anyone lobbying (as defined by the Act) to register and submit returns about their lobbying activities. The Act covers communications by businesses, representative and advocacy bodies, and third parties lobbying on behalf of a client about policy, program, funding and legislation. However, what many don’t realise is that the Act also applies to ANY person who is communicating with a designated public official about the zoning and development of land. If you are, or plan to, reach out to local authority members, TDs or executives within the local authority about a zoning or development issue, you may be lobbying. Come to the session to find out more about how the legislation may apply to you.
