    Shane McQuillan is Partner in the Consulting Services Department at Crowe Horwath, and has 28 years’ not-for-profit and public sector consultancy experience. He has worked extensively in the housing sector throughout his career, and his clients have included North and East Housing Association, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, Threshold, the Housing Association for Integrated Living, and a wide range of Government Departments and Agencies in Ireland and the UK. Shane’s principal area of expertise is the strategic review of not-for-profit and public sector services and activities, the preparation of strategic and business plans, and the development of recommendations leading to better use of resources to meet public need.

    Ireland’s housing crisis – some practical perspectives from the voluntary housing sector.

    Presentation Synopsis:

    In this presentation, Shane McQuillan and Vincent Keenan will discuss the current housing crisis affecting Ireland in 2016, and will address some possible solutions. Shane will look at the scale of the problem and its principal causes, and will examine some of the steps that might be required involving Government, financial institutions, developers, builders and other key players. Vincent will describe the work going on in the voluntary housing sector to help address the current problems, and will share his perspective on how the contribution of approved housing bodies such as North and East Housing Association could be maximised.
