Quentin Gargan- Construction PV

  • Presentation Title:

    Solar Photovoltaic Systems

Cost effective renewable energy for more than Part L compliance.

    Synopsis:

With annual global production of solar panels reaching 200 million in 2015, solar PV systems have become an economical way to produce clean electricity, often at a significantly lower cost than power from the grid.

This presentation will look at how photovoltaics can be more than just a cost-effective way of meeting part L on residential developments, and will consider both the obstacles that have so far prevented large penetration of this technology in the Irish market as well as the opportunities for industries to manage energy costs.

    Bio

Quentin Gargan has a background in renewable energy disciplines, including solar thermal, solar photovoltaic and micro-wind. He lectured on solar thermal at Cork Institute of Technology for a number of years and designs microprocessor based renewable energy control systems for use in UK, France, Italy, USA, Australia, Falkland Islands and other regions. He founded ConstructionPV which supplies PV systems to the construction industry and assists in system design.
